What it is

Your website, editable.

Most website changes are small and urgent: a price, a phone number, a photograph, a sentence that is no longer true. Waiting a week for those is what makes a website go stale.

The Website Builder opens your live pages in an editor and lets you change what is on them. It is not a template system and not a new website — the design, the code and the hosting stay exactly as they are. What changes is who can safely make an edit.

Edit on the page itself

Click anything and change it, at the size and in the typeface it will actually appear.

Start in Client editing with words, links, images and approved brand styles. The first-edit guide walks you through a change. Open More for Designer controls, version history and downloads.

Double-click a heading and the cursor is in it. Words, links, buttons, pictures and their descriptions are all editable, and the panel beside the page names each thing in plain language — “Main heading”, not “h1”.

Design controls that show the real value

Size, colour, spacing, alignment — each showing what your website already says, and where it came from.

Enable Designer controls for detailed styling. A website manager can save reusable heading, button and spacing styles, review the matching elements across pages, and apply them as drafts before publishing.

Select a heading and the panel shows the font your site sets, the size it renders at and the colour it uses. Change one and it is marked as yours, with a single click to put it back. Only the controls that make sense for what you selected are shown.

Desktop, tablet and phone

Three widths, edited separately where they need to differ.

Preview a replacement image before using it. Crop & focal point lets you choose its visible area while keeping the original image. Check the full page at phone width before publishing.

Switch to the phone width and the values you see are the ones a phone actually uses. A change made there applies to phones only; the larger layout is left alone.

Shared parts, changed once

A header, a footer or a call to action that repeats across pages is one thing, not eight copies.

Edit it anywhere and the Builder tells you how many pages it reaches before you type. If one page needs to differ, choose “only this page” and that copy becomes independent — without the page changing on screen.

Nothing is live until you publish

Your work is saved as a draft, previewed as the real page, and published deliberately.

Before publishing you see exactly what changed, in words: the old sentence and the new one. Afterwards the Builder watches your live website and tells you when the change is actually visible on it — not merely committed.

Every version kept

Undo while editing, and roll back after publishing.

Each publish is recorded with what it contained and who did it. If something is wrong, an earlier version can be restored.

Every website is partly editable this way and the parts that are not are never obvious from looking. So the Builder reads your site and tells you, page by page, before anyone relies on it.

Pages with menus or sliders driven by code will not behave in the editor as they do live — the change still publishes correctly. Replacing a photograph that has several sizes uses the new one at every size.

Real, and it stays with the code

What a form does when it is submitted, embedded maps and videos, custom components, and anything your site works out while it runs. The words around them are still yours to edit.

Not supported

The Builder cannot carry it

A live visual canvas for an application that only exists once the browser runs it, WordPress's own editing model, Shopify themes. A site built with React, Next.js, Astro, Nuxt, Vue, SvelteKit, Remix or an AI builder such as Lovable or Bolt is not shut out — its pages are listed, its words, links and image details are edited as source, its blocks can be moved, copied, restyled or removed, styled differently on tablet and phone, given hover colours, and a link can be set to open in a new tab — each with a review before anything is committed. Your published page is shown beside the fields as you work. What you are changing is still the file rather than a picture of it, we do not build your project, and the picture catches up when your host has rebuilt. We will tell you before you are sold anything.

You do not have to work this out yourself. Part of onboarding is a compatibility report on your actual website, read out loud with you, so the limits are agreed before your team is given access rather than discovered afterwards.

How to sign up.

The Website Builder is set up by Dakyworld today rather than bought from a page. That is deliberate: connecting a live website is the step where things go wrong, and it takes us minutes.

Tell us about your website

Send us the address. If your site is already maintained by Dakyworld, that is all we need.

We check it works with the Builder

We run the compatibility report and go through it with you. If your website is one the Builder cannot carry, we say so at this point — before any money or expectation changes hands.

You grant access to your website's code

You install the Dakyworld Website Editor app on GitHub and choose the one repository your website lives in. You are not sending us a password, and you can narrow or remove that access yourself at any time.

We connect and scan it

We link the repository, scan your pages, set your brand colours and fonts so the editor offers yours rather than ours, and link the parts that repeat across pages.

Your team gets accounts

We create logins for the people who will edit, each with what they are allowed to do: edit only, edit and publish, or manage the site. Then we walk you through it once, live, on your own website.

Included in every monthly partnership at no extra cost. Available to non-clients as a standalone arrangement — ask and we will quote it against the size of your site.

The setup fee is the half-hour that decides whether this works: reading your website page by page, connecting your repository, setting your own colours and fonts so the editor offers yours rather than ours, linking the parts that repeat, and walking your team through it on your own site. If the compatibility review finds the Builder cannot carry your website, you are told before any of it is charged.

Cancel with 30 days' notice. Everything you published is already an ordinary commit in your own repository, so leaving takes nothing with it.

Common questions

Before you hand it to your team.

Can we break the website?+

Not easily. Editing is limited to the content and design of things that already exist on the page — you are not editing code, and the layout cannot be dismantled by accident. Nothing reaches the live site until somebody presses Publish, every publish is recorded, and any earlier version can be restored.

Does our developer lose anything?+

No. The Builder edits the same files your developer works in and commits changes the same way, so their history stays intact and their next change starts from what you published. If somebody edits a page in the code while you have unpublished changes to it, the Builder refuses to publish over them and shows both versions.

What access do you actually need?+

Permission to read and write the files of the one repository your website lives in, and nothing else. It is granted by installing an app on the repositories you choose, so GitHub enforces the boundary rather than us, and the access it lends expires every hour. You can withdraw it yourself at any time.

How long until a change is live?+

Usually under two minutes. Your website is rebuilt by its host after each publish, which is not instant — so the Builder keeps watching your live page and tells you when the change is genuinely visible on it, or when the host has not rebuilt.

Can two people edit at once?+

Yes. If two people change the same thing, the second save is refused rather than overwriting the first, and both versions are shown side by side so a person chooses.

Do we need to be technical?+

No. Everything is named in plain language and the controls shown are the ones that apply to whatever you selected. The one technical step, granting access to the code, is done once and we walk you through it.

What happens if we stop working with Dakyworld?+

Your website is unaffected. Every change you published is already in your own repository as an ordinary commit, your domain and hosting are yours, and removing our access is a setting on your side.
